Being one of the six major breweries in Munich, every year we have the honor of brewing a special beer for Oktoberfest, our Hacker-Pschorr Oktoberfest beer.
With 13.7% original gravity and 6% alcohol content, the Oktoberfest beer is stronger than the Münchner Hell pale lager and exclusively available during Oktoberfest as a “Wies`n-Maß” (one liter stein) or in the two-liter swing-top bottle. The right to serve beer on the Oktoberfest Theresienwiese (called Wiesn for short, meaning meadow) is set forth in the Oktoberfest regulations. The rules stipulate: “Oktoberfest is the traditional Munich festival with Munich hospitality and Munich beer. This tradition is to be maintained. Therefore, only Munich beer from top-performing and well-established traditional Munich breweries that conform to the Munich Beer Purity Law of 1487 and the German Purity Law of 1906 are allowed to serve Oktoberfest guests.”
We are extremely proud to be serving our excellent Hacker-Pschorr Oktoberfest beer in two large festival tents, the “Hacker-Festzelt” and the “Pschorr Bräurosl.”
In addition, the delicious Hacker-Pschorr beer is also served in a few smaller tents: two offering grilled chicken and duck, “Poschner’s Hühner- und Entenbraterei” and “Hühner- und Entenbraterei Wildmoser,” and “Zur Bratwurst”.
