Hacker Pschorr - Himmel der Bayern

The beautiful and legendary Bräurosl

In the Bräurosl tent at the Oktoberfest, tradition is a big deal. That is already clear in the beer tent’s name. The namesake is none other than Rosi Pschorr, the daughter of the former Pschorr restaurant and brewery owner. Rosi Pschorr’s beauty made her so popular with Oktoberfest guests that the tent was quickly named after her. That same legendary brewer’s daughter could also create a lively atmosphere in the tent with her skillful yodeling. Today the tent has its own yodeler who, in honor of Rosi Pschorr goes by the stage name “Bräurosl” during Oktoberfest.

To this day the tradition continues, thanks to the Heide family, who has run the tent since 1936 for three Host George Heath knows that many guests appreciate the effort: “Our tent is a traditional tent that is very popular with the locals. Many Munich companies make reservations with us for Oktoberfest. We can rely on the regulars; they come each year, guaranteed. Since 1936, the Bräurosl has been managed by the same host family, the Heides. That is a good sign!”

Besides the tent’s own yodeler “Bräurosl,” music from the Ludwig-Thoma-Musikanten and the Südtiroler Spitzbuam keep things festive. Of course, delicious Hacker-Pschorr Oktoberfest beer is tapped in the Bräurosl, which pairs nicely with the tent’s many Bavarian specialties – crispy suckling pig with wheat beer sauce, potato dumplings and coleslaw or the “Bräurosl-Schmankerlteller” with duck, veal shank and roasted suckling pig, or a delicious sweet dumpling with honey crust and vanilla sauce.
